DPR Speaker Puan Maharani appreciated the victory of badminton athlete Bilqis Prasista over world number 1 badminton player Akane Yamaguchi. Puan’s attitude is seen as an effort to increase electability ahead of the upcoming 2024 presidential election.
According to the Executive Director of Indonesia Political Opinion (OPI) Dedi Kurnia Syah, the message that hard work can beat rankings on paper is conveyed with a political message. Although the message has been understood by many people, politically, Puan wants to convey that Bilqis is a motivation in facing the 2024 presidential election.
“I think that if it is associated with Puan Maharani’s momentum, there are political nuances. One of them is the motivation that was built by Puan Maharani in facing the 2024 presidential election. “This is part of Puan’s hard work. Puan is trying to improve her reputation. Then it is hoped that it will increase her popularity as well as her electability,” emphasized Dedi.
According to him, with Puan’s attitude that continues to side with the community, it is increasingly showing her figure who can separate the interests of political parties and the legislature.
“Lately, how did Puan, who showed her attitude as the Speaker of the House of Representatives, who did not hesitate to criticize the government, rebuked Ganjar Pranowo because the conditions in Central Java were not getting better.”
“Wadas, poverty is increasing, even though one party, Puan actually shows a different situation, there are nuances of Puan’s side with the public,” he said.
He said, with Puan’s attitude that continues to show that she is increasingly concerned with the fate of the people, it is not impossible that the electability of the PDIP politician will overtake the other presidential candidates.
“This means that in the next year it is not impossible with such a disciplined work rhythm, the political promotion efforts that are carried out by Puan, it is not impossible that you will become the prima donna of PDIP,” he said.
In addition, Puan is also a woman figure who has an advantage in the country’s political arena. For example, when compared to other political parties, of course there is no politician who can be compared to the daughter of the 5th President Megawati Soekarnoputri.
“Puan is the only political woman who has power and at the same time has access to continuity in 2024. There is no Golkar, Gerindra, Nasdem, Democrats, only PDIP, only Puan stands out,” he said.
Ladies Appreciate Bilqis Prasista
Previously, the Speaker of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Puan Maharani, appreciated Bilqis Prasista who could beat Akane Yamaguchi in the first match between Indonesia and Japan in the 2022 Uber Cup.
Puan assessed that Bilqis’ success in defeating the world number 1 badminton player was the result of hard work.
“As a badminton player ranked 333 in the world, being able to beat number 1, of course this is an extraordinary achievement,” said Puan, Thursday (12/5).
According to Puan, Bilqis has provided an important lesson that hard work is the main thing. Meanwhile, ranking is just a number on paper.
“Thanks to hard work and an unyielding mentality, Bilqis managed to make a surprise,” said the PDI-P politician.
Puan also hopes that the achievements achieved by Bilqis can be an inspiration to be followed by her colleagues who are currently competing in the 2022 Uber Cup.
“If everyone works hard and has a winning mentality like Bilqis, we can certainly win the Uber Cup,” said Puan.
Puan also believes that what Bilqis has shown applies to all things. That is, effort and hard work are the most decisive compared to mere numbers which are mere rankings on paper.
