Every hour at least 20 patients need to be transfused either for scheduled treatments or emergencies, where it should be noted that, to process and obtain blood components. In addition to performing all the tests on blood donations, a “processing time” of several hours is required.
This is why, if you make an altruistic blood donation TODAY and during the next few months you have a family member who requires a donation; The Metropolitan Blood Center will make all arrangements for that prior donation; be recognized in public hospital patients; belonging to the network of public establishments in the country.
This in the context of a significant drop in donations in our House of Voluntary Blood Donors where we are receiving an average of only 21 donations daily; figure that is well below the transfusion need of patients in the Metropolitan Region. It should be noted that the Metropolitan Blood Center needs to have 44 daily donations just at this point of care in order to have an adequate stock of blood components and thus meet the requirements of the RM.

The invitation is open to all those who have compatible health to make a donation, and wish to donate TODAY to the Donor’s House; scheduling an hour in advance here, between Monday to Friday from 08:00 to 18:00, and Saturdays from 09:00 to 18:00.
