Preventing DHF, Semper Timur Village Boosts Mosquito Nest Eradication Activities

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – In order to prevent dengue fever dengue fever (DHF), Semper Timur Village, Cilincing, North Jakarta, has stepped up mosquito nest eradication (PSN) activities in residential areas.

Semper Timur Lurah Cahyo Hudoyo said his party was intensifying PSN by implementing the 3M plus movement on a regular basis.

“Regular PSN activities are carried out every Tuesday and Friday. This is a joint effort of jumantik cadres, residents, and stakeholders to minimize dengue cases in the Semper Timur sub-district,” said Cahyo, quoted from a press release, Friday (13/5/2022). .

Cahyo said that his party routinely conducts PSN activities in the environment, ranging from settlements, schools, offices, to other places.

This is done so that the presence of mosquito larvae in water reservoirs can be detected so that they can be eradicated.

This activity was carried out by checking various locations that could be breeding grounds for mosquitoes that cause dengue fever.

“This is an anticipatory measure against dengue fever,” he said.

In Semper Timur Village, PSN activities are carried out simultaneously in RW 001 to RW 011.

According to Cahyo, the residents’ awareness to participate in maintaining the cleanliness of their environment and implementing 3M plus is increasing.

“Some residents have also become independent jumantik who are responsible for the environment in which they live so that when monitoring Jumantik cadres can see the PSN control cards filled in by residents,” he said.
