Although not tangible at the moment, the metaverse is a very present concept. And although in Spain it is still little more than that, a concept, Meta is committed to bringing the tools that will define this space, which is currently being developed. For this reason, Instagram offers the possibility of using the avatars that you will use in the metaverse for your stories.

Instagram has wanted to give Meta avatars a first use by allowing users to take advantage of them in Instagram stories. Users will now be able to create from the story creation menu your own virtual avatar through the app settings or through the story creation menu on Instagram.

For now, you will be able to use these avatars in your stories currently in the form of stickers. If the user wants it, he can open the camera selfie of the smartphone to be compared to the avatar to achieve as much resemblance as possible. Features of all kinds can be edited, and of course, they can be customized as much as the user wants.

Create your avatar

Whether it is in the publications menu or in the Instagram Settings menu (more specifically in the ‘Account’ section), you can create this avatar in a complete editor. You can start with a predefined template, and from there, customize it. You can also create one from scratch, equip it with the clothes or hairstyles you want and the skin tone, among others.

This custom avatar is saved to your Instagram account, and is there to be used in Instagram stories. For example, once the avatar is created, if a story is created and the avatar button is pressed in the post functions menu, you will be able to use this same avatar in a selection of poses as a sticker.
