Electronic Arts Joins Developers Codemasters Cheshire and Criterion Games to Join the Need for Speedseries to work. Criterion will continue to operate from Guildford while Codemasters will remain in Cheshire.
“The integration builds on the close collaboration between the two studios over the past few months. We share the same values and culture and believe that by combining the vast expertise of both teams we can provide the best racing experience for our players,” said code masters.
Since 2020, the development of the Need for Speed series is back in the hands of Criterion. Previously, Ghost Games was responsible for the development. After the acquisition of Codemasters by Electronic Arts merging the two studios is a logical next step.
The next Need for Speed was announced in 2020, but things have been quiet around the game since then. We may get new info next month, as EA PLAY 2022 will take place from June 12-14.
