Since the end of February and the launch of the invasion of Ukraine by Vladimir Putin, a hundred hospitals have been “totally destroyed” by the Russian forces, declared this Thursday Volodymyr Zelensky.
Hospitals and health facilities have been targeted by the Russian military since the start of the war in Ukraine. According to Volodymyr Zelensky, 101 hospitals were “totally destroyed” by the bombardments and offensives by enemy forces. “It’s barbarism”, denounces in his speech this Thursday the Ukrainian President.
“All the Russian commanders who give such orders are just sick, incurable”, launches Volodymr Zelensky, estimating that these bombardments since February 24 on places receiving wounded mean “the self-destruction of Russia as a State”.
The Ukrainian president promises that “destroyed hospitals and bombed schools, universities and buildings will be rebuilt.”
Russia ‘lacks courage’
The Russians “are cowards”, continues Volodymyr Zelensky. “Their strategic defeat is evident to everyone around the globe, even those who continue to communicate with them,” he said.
“Russia simply lacks the courage to admit it (…) and they try to hide the truth behind missile strikes”, denounces the Ukrainian president.
“Targets apart”
Guest of BFMTV, the director of hospitals in northern Ukraine, Yuliya Siedaia, already affirmed on April 21 that “hospitals are separate targets for the Russian army.” She took as an example Kharkivthe second largest city in the country.
“In hospitals in the South and East, it’s a humanitarian disaster,” Yuliya Siedaia even launched in early March. In Mariupol, the maternity ward of the pediatric hospital had been bombed by the Russian air force, causing international indignation.
