Student Dies in Karangasem Due to DHF, a total of 9 people have died from DHF in Bali since 2022

TRIBUN-BALI.COM, DENPASAR – One 12-year-old male student died of dengue hemorrhagic fever (DHF) in Karangasem on Wednesday, May 11, 2022 yesterday.

When confirmed, the Head of the Bali Provincial Health Office, dr. I Nyoman Gede Anom confirmed the information and said the student died at Balimed Hospital, Karangasem.

“Yes, it’s true that there were students who died of dengue fever in Karangasem, to be precise at Balimed Hospital,” he explained on Friday, May 13, 2022.

He also provided data on dengue cases in Bali from January to April 2022. In January there were 562 DHF patients and 5 people died.

Followed by data in February as many as 317 DHF patients and zero cases of death due to DHF. Furthermore, data in March as many as 351 DHF patients and 2 people died.

And the data in April of DHF patients were 380 people and 1 person died.

While the patient data in May has not been detailed because it has not yet entered the end of the month, while for patients who died from DHF in May, only 1 person was found.

From the total data obtained as many as 1,610 people and 9 people died.

The districts that contributed the highest dengue cases in Bali were Buleleng, Badung, Denpasar City and Karangasem Regency.

Regarding this, Anom said that his party still urges the public to always eradicate mosquito nests through 3M, namely draining and brushing water reservoirs regularly, closing all water storage areas tightly, and utilizing waste that has economic value (recycled).

“Still, we urge the public to participate in eradicating mosquito nests through the application of 3M plus, and if there are cases of course we will do fogging and also urge the public to be vigilant if their child has a fever and is quickly taken to a health facility for examination,” he concluded.
