Suzuki Ecstar really proves his sincerity to withdraw from MotoGP Next season. The racer Joan Mir furious.

As of Thursday (12/5/2022), Suzuki announced that they were in talks with Dorna regarding the possibility of withdrawing from MotoGP 2023. The Japanese manufacturer’s financial situation was the cause.

Suzuki was really affected by the Covid-19 pandemic and when they wanted to reorganize their finances, the Russia vs Ukraine war made it difficult for them to move. As a result, the management decided to withdraw from any kind of motorcycle racing.

This news certainly surprised many parties, especially the riders such as Joan Mir and Alex Rins. Even though Suzuki has become a new force in addition to Honda, Yamaha and Ducati in the last three years.

Joan Mir’s success in becoming the 2020 world champion proves Suzuki’s current quality. It is natural that Joan Mir was then very disappointed with the decision to withdraw from Suzuki.

According to Mir, Suzuki actually has the potential to perform even better this season with the quality of the bike. The proof is Alex Rins is in fourth position with 69 points, then Joan Mir is in sixth position with 56 points.

“I’m really angry about this decision. This team is great, one of the special teams in the paddock – the people who work here make it very special,” he said. Joan Mir from Autosport.

“I came here four years ago, but many have worked here before me. They worked hard to become world champions in 2020, then third in the manufacturing standings last season, continues this season,” he continued.

“We have competed on the championship path every season since my arrival.”
