The temporary injection locations of the GGD Hollands Midden are in demand, according to the health service. At the seven so-called pop-up locations in total, 710 people were vaccinated against corona in the past week: ‘a large number’. Three new pop-up locations will be added in the coming week.

The new locations are the Nexxux activity center in Hillegom, the town hall in Roelofarendsveen and the Nelso Mandela Center in Gouda. In Katwijk, Alphen, Lisse, Noordwijk and Voorschoten, the GGD is already pricking temporary places. Information about dates, times and locations can be found at ggdhm.nl/vaccinatielocaties-corona Children up to and including 11 years old can only go to the permanent locations in Leiden, Alphen and Gouda. Last week, 943 people received an injection at the fixed locations.

Refugees

The GGD is now also active in providing information about corona vaccinations to Ukrainian refugees. Only about 35 percent have had the two basic shots. The GGD provides information at reception locations and those who wish can receive a free Pfizer shot.

In the Gouda region, about twenty refugees have already been vaccinated in this way. This and next week, the GGD will visit locations in Alphen aan den Rijn, Voorschoten and Roelofarendsveen.

Child vaccinations

Attention is also paid to other vaccinations. The Youth Health Care of the GGD Hollands Midden uses a conversation with parents and children to find out which shots they have already received and which ones are needed to comply with the Dutch national vaccination program.

Of the 170 refugee children already seen by the GGD, eleven turned out to need one or more injections, for example against DKTP (diphtheria, pertussis, tetanus, polio), Hepatitis B and MMR (mumps, measles, rubella). The GGD is working on a plan to vaccinate these children at the reception locations as soon as possible.
