Reported from Mirrorthere is an interview snippet Pep Guardiola which became viral when discussing the rivalry of the two teams. The snippet of the sentence is considered to be a mockery of Guardiola to the Reds!
“Liverpool have a great history in European competition. Not in the Premier League, because they won once in 30 years,” he told beIN Sports.
No doubt, Liverpool has been fasting for a long time for the English League title. The Reds only found it in the 2019/2020 season.
However, if you look at the interview in its entirety, Pep Guardiola actually also insinuated that the British are more inclined to choose Liverpool than Manchester City to win. “But we have been there for the last 11 or 12 years. I know sometimes we are uncomfortable, but I don’t care if people prefer Liverpool to win. This is not a problem.”
