A statistic from the insurance company AXA shows where it has hailed and stormed the most in Switzerland in the last ten years. In Lucerne, for example, a particularly large number of hail and flood damages were counted. Other central Swiss cantons are also listed.

A new AX damage statisticsA shows which regions of Switzerland have been hit hardest by storms over the past ten years. When it comes to hail damage, the canton of Lucerne is one of the eight most affected cantons – alongside Neuchâtel, Ticino, Jura, Nidwalden, Schwyz, Zug and Bern. According to a statement, around half of all hail damage reported to AXA in the last ten years occurred in these eight cantons.

In terms of flood damage, Lucerne again ranks third, ahead of Solothurn and Aargau. Meanwhile, Schwyz and Thurgau are even more affected. In all five cantons, more than a third of the total flood damage reported has been counted. In terms of damage from lightning, Lucerne is classified as little affected. (cn)
