Why? The coach gives the answer himself – without thinking twice: “For me, Aubstadt is the best amateur team in the Bavarian regional league. How they play football – that’s very impressive. However, this requires a lot of work and a team that pulls along. It doesn’t happen by itself.”
The committed coach of FC Pipinsried wasn’t really happy about staying up in the league late on Saturday evening. “You can’t do that right after a game like that. But the joy of what we have achieved is slowly getting the better of us.”

The match against Aubstadt was postponed to today, as the Lower Franconia have drawn into the Toto Cup final against FV Illertissen. Among other things, they eliminated the Munich Lions and the then still active third division club Türkgücü Munich.
Last Saturday, TSV lost very narrowly with 0:1 against the small Bavarians; they missed a penalty in the fourth minute of added time.
Aubstadt’s coach Victor Kleinhenz told the Main-Post after the match against Bayern: “We’ll continue in the same way. We’ll pull ourselves up, go to Pipinsried, play against Schalding, get the six points to end an outstanding season and then we’ll go to Illertissen. Chin up guys, that was a ridiculously good effort.”
So anyone who thinks that the grave fields will make the long journey to Pipinsried to taste the excellent cake in the FCP sports hall, sip a coffee and pay with three points is definitely wrong. FC Pipinsried has to prepare for a busy Tuesday evening. (Bruno Haelke)
