Filipina able to withstand Vietnam 0-0 in Group A . continued phase SEA Games 2021, Sunday (8/5/2022). This result is a danger signal for the U-23 Indonesian National Team.
Vietnam failed to continue the winning trend after appearing mighty against the U-23 national team. Park Hang-seo’s team was made blunt by not being able to score goals by the Philippines.
Park Hang-seo was also irritated, especially about the defensive game played by the Philippines. Apart from that, the Philippines and Vietnam both collected four points thanks to one win and one draw.
“This is not a good result for Vietnam. The opposing team played too defensively. Although in fact we also experienced this problem on many occasions,” said Park Hang-seo, quoted by Vietnamese media Zing News.
“It’s not easy for our players to penetrate. Their defense is too tight. During the break, we will find a solution to solve this problem,” he said.
Apart from the defensive game, the Philippines have shown that they can also be tough opponents for Team U-23. The Philippines has the potential to make it difficult for the U-23 National Team as when they held Vietnam.
The U-23 national team must also win the second match against Timor Leste which will be held on Tuesday (10/5). Victory will be a valuable asset for Garuda Muda before meeting the Philippines on May 13.
If you don’t win, it’s certain that the U-23 National Team’s struggle will be even more difficult. The Philippines will have the upper hand and compete with Vietnam for the top spot in Group A.
Meanwhile, the U-23 National Team received good news before meeting Timor Leste. The mainstay right-back, Asnawi Mangkualam, has joined in Vietnam and has the opportunity to play against Timor Leste.
The presence of Asnawi is expected to be a solution to the right-back problem which is allegedly a weakness Team U-23 when defeated by Vietnam. Before Asnawi arrived, the right-back position was filled by Ilham Rio Fahmi, who was a debutant.
