It was a moving Hærland that received one of the most generous awards during this year’s Gullruten.
The award ceremony is considered one of Norway’s largest. Here, the cream is chosen by Norwegian TV programs and personalities.
This year’s prize splash went off the stack in Gullruten in the Grieg Hall in Bergen on Saturday night.
– I usually have gone to bed at this time here, the comedian jokes on stage.
– I am very happy about it, but as I said at the same time a little shy in situations like this. So I keep saying thank you too, I run from the stage.
– Thank you very much!
The honorary award is given to honor people or programs in the TV industry for long efforts. Among previous winners are Thomas Numme and Harald Rønneberg (2018), Anne Grosvold (2016) and Trond-Viggo Torgersen (2013).
In 2019, Dagsrevyen, NRK’s flagship for news, ran away with the victory.
– It is touching and cozy and I am very proud, says Hærland to VG.
Among the other Gullruten nominees as could unleash the jubilation on Saturdaywas comedian Herman Flesvig (30), who has had enormous success with the NRK series «First-time service».
He ran away with one of the most coveted awards – Gullruten’s audience award – the only category where the Norwegian people get to vote for their TV favorite during Gullruten.

Jon Almaas (54) and Solveig Kloppen (50) walked away with the Gullruten award for best presenter – entertainment for their efforts in “Alle mot alle”. Kloppen switched to TV Norway two years ago, after almost 20 years in TV 2.
The series «Basic Bitch» on Discovery – with Kristine Grændsen, Karin Klouman, Emilie Skolmen and Ada Otilde Skjong Eide in the lead, took home the award for best comedy program.

VG got to talk to the honorary award winner.
– I’m shaking, but I’m also a little embarrassed. I’m not good at those things here, says Hærland to VG.
– What is it like to see so many of your former colleagues and friends honor you in this way here?
– No, I started laughing. I was very, very moved.
– Now you have been honored for your entire career. Is there anything you remember particularly well?
– I have been allowed to make so many different things. I’m just happy with all the things I’ve been able to do.
– Is there anything you regret?
– In the.
–Hærland, who recently started a new job as a podcast developer at Aller Social Club, is especially known from the time she was a regular participant in Nytt again from 1999 to 2007. During the award ceremony on Saturday, clips from Hærland’s glory days were shown in the entertainment program.
– It is a long time ago, she says to VG.
– So for me it is as if a whole life has happened in the meantime. It was a very fun period, but it has been a lot of fun in all periods afterwards as well.
– You were a little short on stage, was there anything more you wish you said?
– No, I do not have much more to say than that I am happy. What more should I say?
– Did you know about this in advance?
– Yes, otherwise they would not have made me come here. I’m not one to go on such things.
Hærland has previously come forward with the eye disease she kept hidden for 20 years.
– This diagnosis has been under everything I have done for 20 years, she told VG in 2016.
