ALBLASSERDAM – It could hardly be more Dutch, and above all more peaceful, here on the edge of Alblasserdam, with an idyllic view of the world-famous windmills of Kinderdijk. And yet, just 24 hours ago, such a terrible drama took place on this very spot, making Friday 6 May the blackest day in the history of the Alblasserwaard Dam village.
