Ithe was revealed to the general public in the series Friends. Mike Hagerty, the interpreter of the concierge in the famous sitcom, died at the age of 67 in Los Angeles. Actress Bridget Everett, her acting partner in the series Somebody Somewhere (HBO), revealed the news on Instagram on Friday, May 6, saluting the memory of “a beloved actor” and “a devoted husband”. “His love for his hometown of Chicago and his family have been the cornerstones of his life,” wrote the American actress.
In the series Friends, Mike Hagerty played Mr Treeger, the superintendent of the legendary New York building. For five episodes in 1995, the Illinois native co-starred alongside Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, Matthew Perry and David Schwimmer. “He was so special, warm, funny. We are devastated that he passed away,” Bridget Everett lamented on Instagram, sharing several photos of the actor who played his father in Somebody Somewhere.

Accustomed to supporting roles
Besides its role in Friends, Mike Hagerty has appeared in several legendary series on the American small screen. Viewers have seen him in particular in Ally McBeal, Desperate Housewives, Grey’s Anatomy or Emergency room et Glee. Accustomed to supporting roles, he has also participated in around thirty feature films, including Inspector Gadget (1999) and more recently Apache Junction in 2021. His death comes a few months after the disappearance of another cult character from the series Friends. Emblematic Central Perk waiter, James Michael Tyler played Gunther, Rachel’s chilled lover. The American comedian died at the age of 59 in Los Angeles from prostate cancer in October 2021.
