Nicolas Sarkozy welcomed François Hollande to the Élysée Palace following his election on May 6, 2012. Having become the 7th President of the Fifth Republic, François Hollande met with the outgoing President, until accompanying him on the steps of the Élysée. But contrary to tradition, he then headed inside the Palace to join General Kelche, Grand Chancellor of the Legion of Honor. François Hollande did not accompany Nicolas Sarkozy to his car. A misstep that Carla Bruni did not appreciate.
Annoyed by his behavior during the transfer of power between the latter and her husband, Nicolas Sarkozy, the singer made it known. How ? Thanks to his talents, the latter took revenge by writing an unflattering song titled The Penguin: “I seem very pleased with him, he has a cold heart, this penguin / Doesn’t seem to love his neighbour, penguins aren’t for me…” On this melody, Carla Bruni connects the incendiary sentences away from the politician. The vocabulary used to describe it lets imagine the contempt she has for him : And “little sovereign tune”, “no squire manner”, “I laid it beau”or “neither cold nor hot”… This song had its effect!

If between Nicolas Sarkozy and François Hollande, the relations are in a certain way cordial, it is not the same with Carla Bruni. Many times, the singer launched a few small spades to remind him. For example, in 2017, on the occasion of the funeral of Jean d’Ormesson. According to the world, François Hollande would have pointed out to Carla Bruni that she looked cold. To which the singer would have replied curtly: “It’s because we’ve been waiting a while. We have been to mass beforet. Because, you see, we are believers.“ Another time, the former model posted an invitation from the Élysée on her Instagram account, writing: “Hey, François Hollande doesn’t know that I got married… Could someone from Elysée protocol let him know?» Carla Bruni is resentful!
