Is there anything more exciting? With Winterthur, Schaffhausen and Aarau, the top trio in the Challenge League deliver a thriller whose screenplay is a lesson for all crime scene directors. A prognosis? Impossible! Even the 33rd matchday does not provide any information about who now has the best chance of winning the big ticket. And who is facing another season in the House of Commons.
A good thriller should also have one or two moments of shock. In Yverdon, where Aarau is playing, it happened shortly after the kick-off: guest goalie Simon Enzler was down after a collision with Yverdon striker Eleouet. It is immediately clear: This does not look good! Enzler’s teammates vehemently ask the doctors to come out and there is a long break in treatment. A blessing in disguise for Enzler: He is briefly unconscious, but can be spoken to again on the way to the hospital. Diagnosis: concussion!
The people of Aarau are only slowly recovering from the shock. It takes a fine individual performance from top scorer Kevin Spadanuda, who scores to make it 1-0 just before the break. Nothing comes from Yverdon after the break – Aarau wins 4:0, the third win in a row.

Winti has to vacate 1st place
This means that FCA has overtaken FC Winterthur in the table. Alex Frei’s team took an early lead against Thun, but then couldn’t stand the pressure in front of 9,000 spectators. 2:2 – the third game in a row without a win. Shortly before the final whistle, there were also ugly scenes on the Schützenwiese: After a foul whistle, both teams attacked each other, the culprit being Thuns Ndongo, who knocked Ramizi down in Mike Tyson style. Referee Staubli? Didn’t see the scandal scene, Ndongo actually gets off scot-free.
And in Schaffhausen? There, Ardaiz, the second of the three Challenge League shooters, remains goalless, as does Buess in Winterthur. Only Aaraus Spadanuda increased his goal tally. It shouldn’t matter to Ardaiz: Thanks to the 4-1 win against relegated Kriens, Schaffhausen are top of the table for the first time this season. However, hot does not mean anything in this crazy promotion thriller.
