His former colleague, Bridget Everett, confirmed the death in a tribute on her Instagram account.
“With great sadness, the family of Michael G. Hagerty announced his passing yesterday in Los Angeles,” the actor wrote according to the website.

Hagerty was perhaps best known for his recurring role as caretaker “Mr. Treeger »in the hit series« Friends ».

Hagerty leaves behind his wife Mary Kathryn, his sister Mary Ann, his sister’s wife Kathleen O’Rourke and their daughter Meg.
