Montpellier: the city of Rennes and its gourmet terroir, guests of honor at the Lez market

Culinary and tourist seduction operation of the Rennes destination on May 6th and 7th.

An evening and a day to introduce Rennes and its finery as well as its tourist assets to Montpellier and metropolitan residents. That’s the least. The operation organized on Friday May 6 from 5 p.m. and Saturday May 7 all day at the Lez market aims to promote Breton gastronomy and cultural traditions.

With the idea, also, to remember that Rennes, like its region, can be reached from Montpellier airport in 1h35 by plane via Transavia.

Each stall in the Lez market will, exceptionally, be painted in the colors of the capital of Brittany. At Joe’s, it will even be possible to taste pancakes and the unmissable pancake-sausage.

Made in Breizh

A delegation from the Rennes tourist office will hold a stand. In addition to learning about the program of summer events, onlookers will discover a few products 100% made in Breizh: salted butter caramels, Breton bowls, posters and postcards.

Gastronomy will be widely highlighted. First with the Coquille restaurant in Rennes, which will give you a taste of its seasonal cuisine with revisited sandwiches and kouign-a-pom. Peska, a restaurant of marine curiosities, will showcase its periwinkles and octopus buns. La Fabrique will present its kouign-amann. Without forgetting Kebreizh with its farandole of revisited sandwiches and other kouign-a-pom.

In terms of tradition, the only Breton puck manufacturer – the aptly named David Jeux – will travel to the Lez market to reconstitute a paletdrome with a succession of tournaments. Fun and friendly as hell! Fun, too, competitions to win all-inclusive stays in Rennes, meals and gifts.

Finally, Friday May 6 from 6 p.m. and Saturday May 7 at 2 p.m. and then at 4 p.m. the Cercle celtique du Gard will visit the Lez market. In the process, a certain DJ Ordoeuvre will give a new youth to Breton music and will try to bring generations together on the track.

Between tourism professionals

Upstream of the events at the Lez market, tourism professionals from Rennes and those from the Montpellier metropolitan area organized a private evening on Thursday 5 to promote the assets of the Breton territory to specialized operators. Montpellier airport, from where Transavia’s direct flights to Rennes take off, as well as the Hérault tourist development agency (ADT 34) were on hand. The objective: to promote the city of Rennes as a new destination for Hérault residents to discover.
