Two months after the international agricultural fair, the departmental council of Côte-d’Or and the departmental chamber of agriculture put, this Thursday evening in Dijon, the professionals of the department medalists at the last general agricultural competition in Paris . Breeders and winegrowers who symbolize “the excellence of Côte-d’Orien know-how”, recalled the president of the community, François Sauvadet and the president of the chamber of agriculture, Vincent Lavier.
“It’s an exceptional vintage”
“I wanted to congratulate you all, because to reach this level of excellence and competition, it takes a lot of work, energy, desire and sometimes disappointment,” said François Sauvadet. “During the last show, the Côte-d’Or won 72 medals and 120 titles in the various competitions. It is an exceptional cru, in all areas. The wines were obviously distinguished, with 56 medals including 19 gold and a prize of excellence. But also breeding, sheep and cattle, with very strong symbols in terms of transmission of know-how. »

New focus on the City of Gastronomy
Who says local products, says gastronomy. On the eve of the inauguration of the Dijon city, François Sauvadet therefore took advantage of the moment to explain, once again, why he had not (yet?) wanted the community to participate in the financing of the project. “I am renewing the service offer that I made on behalf of the Department, so that the ”Savoir-faire 100% Côte-d’Or” brand enters the City of Gastronomy. This is not the case today, which I did not wish to finance. Because I am also the representative of the producers and we cannot talk about gastronomy without talking about those who are at the origin of it, that is to say the farmers. I will only go into the financing of the City when the brand and the farmers of Côte-d’Or go there. »
