A WizzAir plane on its way from Gdansk to Narvik airport had to stop in Bodø on Thursday night to refuel.
Five of the passengers on the plane had Bodø as the final stop for the journey, and thus saw their average to leave the plane.
– There was a situation inside the plane where they got off the plane without permission, says operations manager in Nordland police district, Kjetil Kaalaas.
Created case
According to the operations manager’s experience, the doors of the aircraft are opened when refueling – but it is forbidden to leave the aircraft before it has landed at its destination.
– The reason for this is that the airport does not have the capacity to handle it. There is no reception system for that plane there, says Kaalaas, and mentions customs officers as part of the system.
The police have now opened a case and are investigating the incident. They have control over all five people who left the plane.
But before the plane could take off again, the police had to be called again.
Ask for assistance
– Before the plane was allowed to take off from Bodø airport, the captain asked for assistance in removing two new passengers who behaved in a rude way on the plane, the police in Nordland inform.
The operations manager says they have no information that there is any relationship between the first group of five and the other two who were picked up by the police.
It is also not known what was the cause of the noise.
– The police have taken care of them, and they have been brought to the police station. The first five were dismissed on the spot after a short interrogation, says Kaalaas.
All of the seven are reported by the police and can expect fines or fines.
