Anticipate Long Queues at Gas Station Rest Areas, Fuel Filling Will Be Restricted

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – PT Jasamarga Related Business (JMRB) and PT Pertamina (Persero) will limit the purchase of fuel oil (BBM) from rest area on toll roads managed by the Jasa Marga Group.

General Manager of Operational Planning and Control of PT JMRB Meta Herlina Puspitaningtyas said this effort was made to reduce queues at gas stations which could have an impact on overcrowding in rest areas.

“We will limit the purchase of fuel for each vehicle if there is a long line, to anticipate overcrowding at gas stations,” he said in a written statement, Thursday (5/5/2022).

However, if these efforts are unable to reduce the density in the rest area, the driver is asked to fill up with fuel at another rest area or look for another gas station outside the toll road.

“The rest area officers will direct road users to fill up fuel at the next rest area or alternatively, namely on arterial roads,” he said.

In addition, his party is also working with the police to engineer the opening and closing of the rest area if the rest area is overcrowded or there is a queue up to the main road.

He explained, during the homecoming flow Eid 2022 yesterday, the queue at the rest area also occurred in the women’s restroom.

For this reason, JMRB will change the function of the men’s toilets to women’s toilets if there is a buildup in the women’s toilets.

“Some of the men’s toilets will be converted into women’s toilets situationally to minimize queues in the toilets,” he said.

During the return flow for Lebaran 2022, JMRB will add rest area officers to help point directions to visitors and place clear directions at strategic points.

The addition of officers also serves to ensure the availability of parking and discipline vehicles in the parking area.

“Our evaluation results on the homecoming flow yesterday, there are still many visitors who are confused when looking for rest area facilities, one of which is a toilet,” he said.
