The fourth edition of Expertclick, the free training program in new technologies for the elderly developed by the Fundación Cibervoluntarios and the Fundación de la Asociación Española de Banca (AEB), has expanded its content with educational videos with the aim of reaching 20,000 people , and has included a help line to answer questions within 24 hours.
In this fourth edition, which has the support of the Ministry of Social Rights and the 2030 Agenda, Expertclick has expanded its content with video training pills that will help older people to better understand the operation of technological tools, according to AEB through of a statement. The goal is to reach and raise awareness through these videos to more than 20,000 people. A telephone and online help line has also been set up to answer your questions about technology within 24 hours.
In addition, at least 1,200 older people from rural areas will receive training through workshops, mostly face-to-face, on the use of digital tools on mobile devices. The objective is to contribute to improving the quality of life and promote active aging and participation in society for those over 55 years of age, especially in rural areas.
In this fourth edition, the elderly will learn to use their ‘smartphone’ or ‘tablet’ to communicate by videoconference, make arrangements with their bank, request a medical appointment, buy online or take advantage of their leisure time on the Internet.
All courses will have a duration of six hours and will be carried out for the most part in person. For the next few weeks there are workshops scheduled in the municipalities of Madrid, Barcelona, Cantabria, Badajoz, Zaragoza, Asturias and Murcia.
Since its inception in 2018, Expertclick has trained around 3,700 older people in the use of technological tools, applications and services. Workshops have been held in 258 municipalities in 15 autonomous communities in collaboration with 254 local entities such as city councils, day centers, residences for the elderly or retiree associations, among others. More than 80% of the workshops have been held in rural areas.
