Leslie Benzies left Rockstar North in 2016. Before that he was producer of almost all GTA games and Red Dead Redemption. He founded his own studio Build a Rocket Boy, with which he has been working on a new open world game called Everywhere for quite some time. In 2020, he raised another 43 million euros to co-finance the development.
The company Galaxy Interactive reports on service website that it has also invested in Benzies’ studio, giving some details about the upcoming game. Thus, the game is described as a “true version of Ready Player One”.
The book (and film adaptation) Ready Player One outlines a gigantic virtual world that includes almost the entire population and where people log in to play various games, from races to adventures. Perhaps the description of Galaxy Interactive is meant to indicate that the game will be almost all-encompassing.
Galaxy Interactive also wrote about the still mysterious game: “It is an open world AAA game and a multiplayer experience that includes an epic multi-chapter narrative as well as user-created content, a virtual sandbox where players can create their own worlds with elaborate social and streaming options.”
It is unknown when Everywhere will be officially revealed.
