(WeFu) The good form of keeper Felix Gerdts is undoubtedly closely linked to the rather frightening upward trend of the football district league SC Schiefbahn. The 23-year-old came last summer from VfL Tönisberg, which was even higher in his class, where he had a hard time getting past Nick Esser. But on the Siedlerallee he flourishes due to the unrestricted trust of player-coach Daniel Klinger. Gerdts played at TuS Bösinghoven (today TSV Meerbusch) in his earliest youth and later in the B and A youth of VfR Fischeln. Here he was in the senior area in the national league in goal. His brother Simon, six years older, has retired to the VfR Fischeln third party for professional and private reasons. He played for Union Nettetal and Fischeln in the Oberliga, among others.
On Friday evening, the Schiefbahner are expecting SSV Grefrath, with whom they still have an open score from the first half of the season. There was a crashing 0:5 pack, with Jan Recker standing between the posts for Gerdt’s veteran, who was prevented at the time. Personally, it looks bitter among the guests. Especially as far as the keeper is concerned. Heiko Metz has been out of action for a long time due to injury, Philipp Hollenbenders is still suffering from the consequences of the second cruciate ligament tear and Lars Bergner saw the red card in the cup. That’s why Marius Klausmann, who is usually in the box for the second, has to go. But not only that: Captain Christopher Claeren is suspended again, Lukas Hanssen hums the fifth yellow card and the two Lukas, namely Hartmann and Tölle, are prevented from working. It will certainly be particularly difficult to put a stone in the way of the home side’s road to success.

Also already in action on Friday is VfL Willich, who has the move to SC Waldniel in front of his chest, which has been going from success to success since the change of coach. Even if things didn’t go as well as in the first series, SV Vorst, who only won against SV Mönchengladbach 10 on Sunday, is the favourite.
