This year marks the 32nd anniversary of the adoption by the Supreme Council of the Latvian SSR on May 4, 1990, of the Declaration on the Restoration of the Independence of the Republic of Latvia. With this decision, the Constitution of the Republic of Latvia adopted by the Constitutional Assembly on February 15, 1922 was renewed. It should be recalled that it has only been a public holiday since 4 May 2002.
The May 4 holiday concert “Loving Latvia” features various songs performed by 22 artists and musical associations throughout the years, as well as surprising premieres.
This time the concert took place in the renovated Āgenskalns market, which will open its doors to visitors again on May 7.
