Kevin Anderson retired at the age of 35. The 2.03 m tall South African celebrated his greatest successes at the US Open 2017 and at Wimbledon 2018, where he reached the final in each case. In these he had no chance against Rafael Nadal or Novak Djokovic.
En route to the Wimbledon final, Anderson beat Roger Federer in the quarterfinals. This in an epic match after a 0:2 deficit in five sets. He then achieved his best career ranking of 5th in the world rankings. In total, Anderson won seven ATP titles and almost $18 million in prize money.
