Dresden (dpa / sn) – A good two years after the ban on a Reich citizen group, the Saxon State Criminal Police Office is investigating five Germans. Two women and three men are suspected of continuing the banned organization “United German Peoples and Tribes”, as the Dresden public prosecutor announced on Wednesday.

On Wednesday, the suspects’ apartments in Dresden, Falkenstein, Hoyerswerda and Borthen (Saxon Switzerland-Eastern Ore Mountains district) were searched. At the same time, executive measures were taken in Lower Saxony. No further details were given.

On March 19, 2020, the Federal Ministry of the Interior legally banned the organization. The association was therefore directed against the constitutional order. The members of the association “clearly express their intolerance towards democracy through racism, anti-Semitism and historical revisionism,” according to the Federal Ministry of the Interior’s statement at the time.
