Exactly what substance it was and whether or how dangerous it was was not yet known on Friday morning. One thing was certain: a few moments later, the Frankfurt fire brigade informed Twitter message about the incident.
In addition, the fire chiefs of the Main metropolis announced that in addition to the factory fire brigade of the industrial park, the city’s professional fire brigade was also deployed. Some of the firefighters are wearing protective suits.

The Frankfurt fire brigade was able to give the all-clear again about two hours after the first alarm. On the one hand, according to the fire chiefs, the plant fire brigade was able to stop the substance escaping in the Fechenheim industrial park.
On the other hand, the substance was oleum, also known as fuming sulfuric acid, which is only dangerous to a limited extent. Outside of the industrial park, no more dangerous substances could be found, as the fire brigade further announced.
There were therefore no injuries to complain about.
