Freiburg Police Headquarters: Cross-state road safety campaign “safe.mobile.life” on May 5th – Increased traffic controls in the area of the Freiburg Police Headquarters
Freiburg (ots) –
On May 5, 2022, the transnational traffic safety campaign “sicher.mobil.leben” will take place. This year, the central theme of the inspection day is “Driveability at a glance”.
Not being able to drive is not only one of the main causes of accidents, but also one of the greatest risk factors for fatal traffic accidents. Every seventh fatal traffic accident in Baden-Württemberg in 2021 was due to a lack of fitness to drive. In the area of the police headquarters in Freiburg alone, 435 accidents involving alcohol and/or drugs were in the game. Around 230 people were injured in these accidents, 70 of them seriously, and one person died.
In order to reduce the number of accidents and the causes of accidents such as alcohol, drugs, medication and fatigue in the road traffic to combat, nationwide controls take place as part of the day of action. There will also be increased traffic controls in the area of responsibility of the Freiburg police headquarters.
Media professionals are invited to get an immediate impression of the measures at a control location. There will be the possibility to produce video recordings, pictures and original sounds.
We ask that you register in advance by Wednesday, May 4th, 2022, 4 p.m. by email to [email protected], stating your name and the medium you work for. Details of the inspection location and time will be given upon request.
