Poet, playwright and prose writer Māra Zālīte is celebrating her 70th birthday this year. As a holiday gift, she will have an ambitious anniversary concert “The Most Beautiful Words”, in which songs of various genres with poetry by Māra Zālīte will be performed.
The concert dedicated to the anniversary of Māra Zālīte will take place on September 17 at VEF Culture Palace and will be attended by Ance Krauze, Zigfrīds Muktupāvels, Aija Andrejeva, Daumants Kalniņš, Anmary, Andris Ērglis, Antra Stafecka, Jānis Strazdiņš, choir instrumental group and others. The impressive line-up of soloists, choir and instrumentalists will allow the audience to experience this event as an emotional and full-blooded look back at an important part of Māra Zālīte’s work.
The producer of the concert Aigars Dinsbergs notes: “Māra Zālīte is a unique personality in Latvian culture – a symbol of the Awakening, the revolution sung and intelligence. Her clear vision and wisdom have often inspired and guided our nation through the ages.
