Coach experiences emotional chaos on the line
“We went through all the emotions today. I was satisfied with the first half, but the first quarter of an hour of the second half was difficult,” said racing coach Julien Stéphan, praising the strength of character of his players, who actually came back after the 3-1 defeat . “In the last six home games we’ve only played against the top seven teams and haven’t lost. That shows the progress – we’re able to compete on an equal footing,” he said – the game against PSG proved him completely right.
And yet Racing slipped to sixth place for the time being, three points separate the Alsatians from first place, which would entitle them to the European competition. Depending on who wins the cup in France, sixth place could possibly pave the way to Europe. Stéphan would probably prefer it if his team scored enough points in the remaining three games to make it into the top five.
