New Delhi –
Some areas in India recorded the highest average temperature in April 2022. The hot weather is expected to decrease this May.
Reported from ReutersMonday (2/5/2022), India and Pakistan have suffered extreme heat waves this year, melting sidewalks, forcing school closures and triggering health warnings and fires.
The Director General of India’s Meteorological Department said northwestern and central India recorded average maximum temperatures of 35.9 and 37.78 Celsius in April respectively. The figure is the highest since records began 122 years ago.

Scientists warn more than a billion people are at risk of heat-related impacts in the region. Scientists have also linked the onset of intense summer to climate change.
Pakistan’s Federal Minister for Climate Change, Sherry Rehman, said Pakistan went from winter straight to summer without spring. This is said to be the first time this has happened in decades.
