Russia’s Ministry of Defense confirmed the attack by releasing a video on Friday showing a diesel submarine in the Black Sea launching Kalibr cruise missiles at Ukrainian targets, CNN reported Saturday (4/30/2022).

“The crew of the diesel-electric submarine of the Black Sea Fleet has launched a salvo of Kalibr cruise missiles from the Black Sea against the military infrastructure of the Ukrainian armed forces,” the ministry said on the Telegram messaging app.
The Ukrainian military said a week ago that the Russian fleet was still operating “submarines with missile weapons,” among its two dozen units in the Black Sea.
“Russian forces launched missile and bomb attacks on military and civilian infrastructure, including from strategic bombers, ships and submarines,” the Ukrainian Armed Forces added earlier this week.

Meanwhile, a witness told CNN that he heard on Saturday at least two explosions in the southern city of Odessa, and he is still having trouble hearing because of the noise from them.
“The shooting hit the oil terminal in the village of Zhecha in Russia’s Bryansk region, which borders Ukraine, causing damage, but no casualties,” Regional Governor Alexander Bogomaz said in a statement Saturday.
