Socialist activists from all over the world plan to organize a conference next October in Paris. In Côte-d’Or, the departmental councilor Patrick Audard is the first signatory of the local committee which supports the initiative.
Press release from the departmental committee of Côte-d’or for the preparation and support for the organization of a World Conference against war and exploitation of April 29, 2022:
More than 600 activists from 57 countries, on all continents, called for an Open World Conference against war, exploitation and precarious work. This conference will be held in Paris on October 30 and 31 and will be preceded by an international conference for the defense of the rights of working women.
The people are paying a heavy price for the Covid-19 pandemic, especially as governments around the world continue to take advantage of this period to launch vast offensives against the living conditions of workers and young people in all countries. .
The United States is increasing military conflicts and preparing for war against China. All the interventions of the imperialisms of the 20th and 21st century have resulted in bloody chaos and the dislocation of entire nations leading to the massive destruction of human beings.
The warning that Jean JAURES had launched before the war of 1914-1918 remains perfectly topical:
“Capitalism carries war within itself like a cloud carries a storm. »
This is why we cannot give in to the sirens of military-financial interests which deliberately raise the prospect, which they say is inevitable, of a third world war.
It is in this alarming context that Putin’s army invaded Ukraine. We stand with the workers of Ukraine, the workers of Russia, and the workers of the whole world, who demonstrate against this unjustifiable war. We are for the right of peoples to self-determination, as sovereign nations.
We have no confidence in the French President, or in the European community, which continues the cycle of “external operations” in Africa and the social conflict within the country. While EU Member States increase their military budgets and their contributions to the NATO budget, public services, in the process of being destroyed, are systematically promised to privatization, increasing the distress of the social majority of our country.
As for us, we are for the unity of the peoples and workers of the whole world, against war and exploitation, for the Workers’ International. A true culture of peace, for the emancipation of all, requires the fraternization of peoples.
Russian Troops: Out of Ukraine!
European Troops: Out of Africa!
US and NATO troops: Out of Europe!
We call on you to join our initiative by signing this declaration and financially supporting the arrival of delegates from all over the world. You can send your public signature to one of the authors of this call. A press conference is planned.
