Camille Dhont, who was only twenty years old, was responsible for a dazzling opener of the show. With a lot of dancers she brought her mega hit Fireworks, and she immediately lit the fire with it. It was spectacular how she flew through the air tonight for the first but not the last time. Also when Regi brought a medley with his many singers she slid on a moon above the stage from left to right. Camille was nominated three times and ultimately did not win a single MIA, but she will probably be the most talked about after tonight.

The MIA for Dance then went back to Regi† Finally: he used to win three with Milk Inc. and now for the first time solo. He got it from Charlotte De Witte, Lost Frequencies and Compact Disk Dummies. “Wow,” he said emotionally. “Deep bow, I didn’t expect this one. This is my very first solo MIA, thank you so much.”
The MIA for hit of the year was awarded twice. First the one of the year 2020: it went to come a little closer van Regi feat Jake Reese & OT† The second MIA of the evening for Regi, and thus his second as a solo artist. Three times Angele

I love the artists who were in this category with me because I love every single one of them.” The other nominees were Meskerem Mees, Sylvie Kreusch and Camille. Just after she hit her Brussels I love you sang, a third trophy was added. she won Hit of the year 2021 for Fever, her duet with world star Dua Lipa. This brings her to eleven statues in total.
Three times Metejoor
The other star of the evening was Metejoor† Brihang, Bart Peeters and Zwangere Guy bite the dust in the category Dutch speaking† Metejoor thanked his sister in his acceptance speech. “I wouldn’t be here without her.” He also thanked his family and friends, as did his girlfriend Britt. “She keeps our hectic lives on track.
