The proportion of crimes committed on the Internet is increasing. But when it comes to prosecuting cybercrime, traditional police structures reach their limits: because cybercrime usually affects several cantons and often also abroad, cooperation between the various police corps is becoming more important. The Office of the Attorney General has therefore had a specialized team since 2017. At a media conference on Friday, federal prosecutor Stefan Blättler explained that cybercrime is a major challenge, not least for legal assistance.
