It is prepared for a big game and an atmospheric evening. More than 11,000 spectators are expected to watch the floodlit game on Friday evening (7:30 p.m.). For Uerding it will be the last game in such a setting for a long time, for some players it may even be a one-off, last appearance in such a full stadium. “All the ingredients for a great night of football are there,” says Uerdingen’s coach Alexander Voigt. “With such a constellation, there is actually no need for a motivational speech at all.”

The personnel situation at KFC remains tense. And since the two A-Juniors Brandon Do and Maximilian Müller are now needed again with the U19s to prevent relegation from the Niederrheinliga, the Uerdingers are only going to Münster with 15 field players – but more can’t be used.

As far as personnel planning for the coming season in the Oberliga is concerned, the Uerdingers are pushing ahead energetically. “We have submitted written offers to the players we would like to keep,” reports Voigt. “However, we have not yet received any reactions. This is a pity. But we won’t wait until the end of the day either.” Then other players should be approached. One who also has an offer is Maik Odenthal from Rot-Weiss Oberhausen. “We’re interested in signing him, we’ve talked to him, we’re relatively far, but it’s not fixed yet.” Voigt appreciates the 29-year-old left winger, who has played 15 third division and 200 regional league games, not only for his experience his physicality.
