Several cruise missile attacks in central Kiev have left several injured and one dead, Ukrainian authorities said. The missiles hit two different locations, including an apartment building.
The other missile hit “an object,” Ukraine said, without giving details. There are reports that it is an old weapons factory that has been closed since the start of the war, but that has not been confirmed.
Mayor Vitali Klitschko says three people have been taken to hospital, according to Reuters.
The rocket attack happened while UN Secretary-General Guterres was in Kiev to talk to Zelensky. He says he is shocked by the explosions. The Bulgarian Prime Minister was also present in the Ukrainian capital.
Guterres said in Kiev, among other things, that the UN makes every effort to rescue civilians in besieged Mariupol. The UN chief was in Moscow earlier this week to talk to Putin. There, he pushed for the opening of a humanitarian corridor in the devastated port city.
