This Middle-aged Man Goes Homecoming Bike from Tebet to Kebumen

There are many ways for travelers to return to their hometowns. Starting from taking public transportation to private vehicles.

A different way is done by a middle-aged man named Salikun Angel (62). He went home by bicycle to Kebumen, Central Java. He admitted cycling to cultivate a healthy life.

“We are cultivating a healthy life,” said Angel when met on Jalan Ahmad Yani, Bekasi, Thursday (28/4/2022).

Angel admitted that he had been cycling for ten years. He often mentions going home using bicycle.

“I have been using a bicycle for 10 years, since 2012 I like to go home by bicycle,” he said.

Angel has been going home from Tebet since 21.00 WIB. He said that it would take three to five days to reach Kebumen.

“Yes, 3 days, but if you stop by the federal community it can take 4 to 5 days,” he said.

Angel uses a mountain bike type with the luggage he needs during the trip. To eat, Angel said he cooks, but sometimes people give him food.

During the trip to Kebumen, Angel rested during the day. Then he continued his journey at night.

“If I sleep in the afternoon, I will rest, then I will leave again for Asr, then rest goes again at night,” he said.

Meanwhile, other travelers who also use bicycles are Sabur. Together with four of his friends, Sabur was about to go home to Jombang, East Java.

Sabur and friends are cycling from Tangerang City. Sabur admitted that he had been going home by bicycle for seven years.

“From 2015, the estimate is (up to) 3 days,” said Sabur.

According to Sabur, the reason he uses a bicycle to go home is because it is a hobby. He admits that he enjoys commuting by bicycle.

“Yes, it’s just a hobby, it’s delicious, I want to enjoy every goes,” he said.
