After experiencing a new peak in early April with an incidence rate of 1,291 cases/100,000 inhabitants, the circulation of SARS-CoV2 has started to fall again but the situation remains unstable with a rise observed in recent days with a rate of incidence at 861 cases/100,000 inhabitants for the sliding week of April 19 to 25. In the region, the incidence rate is 917/100,000 inhabitants.

High positivity rate
The positivity rate remains very high, approaching 28% in the Rhône, which remains one of the departments in the region where the screening rate remains the highest. The BA.2 sub-variant of Omicron represents 99% of the interpretable sequences, indicates Public Health France in its weekly bulletin.

After remaining below the 500 mark for six weeks, the number of hospitalized Covid + patients crossed this mark again ten days ago. This Thursday, April 28, 531 Covid + patients were hospitalized in the Rhône. In services, the number of patients fell below the 30 mark for a few days in mid-April before rising to remain stable again around forty Covid + patients hospitalized as at the beginning of the month.
Since 1is March 2020, 4,110 Covid+ patients died in hospital while 23,043 patients were able to return home.
