You never know when you might need to protect yourself, so here are some safety tips, especially when walking alone and at night.

learn self defense
You can take a self-defense class at a local or women’s gym.

dress comfortably
It’s always a good idea to bring a pair of flat shoes that can help you run.

remain observant
Stay aware of your surroundings and don’t resist the heist.

Adjust the route
Try planning a few different routes home. Be sure to avoid any areas where someone could easily hide, such as dark alleys, parked cars, and unlit corners.

keep your hands free
Try to keep your hands empty. Fighting with heavy bags can make it harder for you to defend yourself.
