It was fairly clear to the viewer that Fabrizio would choose Madieke in ‘De bachelor’, but that did not necessarily mean that there were also feelings.

“I wasn’t sure if he would choose me,” says Madieke. “At the end I didn’t get any information about how the dates with the other ladies had gone. I do remember that we had a very good feeling about the first date. When you look back at those images, it’s funny that he says he didn’t feel a romantic connection with me. Because I already had the feeling that this could be an interesting story. I have always held on to that feeling throughout the recordings.”
It was told on TV that she has come to like him more than she thought in the beginning. “Fabrizio managed to surprise me. I think he is an honest man, a beautiful person inside with a warm heart.”
That he confessed just before the ultimate moment that he had been intimate with each of the ladies was a small damper. “Do you know what it is? You embark on an adventure with some beautiful people. And then lust can arise. I know he never meant to hurt.” Fabrizio called the intimate interlude with the Dutch passionate. “It was also a great experience for me. I was glad he called it that.”
Although the two have decided not to go through life as a couple, Madieke first wanted to go for it. “I knew he has a child. I said that if I really liked someone, I would embrace their life too. With everything that goes with it.”
