National title accounts may be closed on May 8

Benfica will host Sporting at Estádio da Luz, on May 8, in a match for the 12th round of the second phase of the Women’s Football League, which could be decisive in terms of defining the national title.

The reds, champions in title, are well on their way to renewing the title, leading the awarding phase of the champion with 30 points, with the full number of victories in the 10 games played, being seconded by the lionesses, who are second with six points less and that they will have to win in full light and wait for at least one more defeat in order to stay in the fight.

Benfica’s women’s team has played its games as hosts at the Municipal José Martins Vieira stadium, in Cova da Piedade.
