Latvian national goalkeeper Punnenovs will play hockey in Lausanne for the next five years

Punnenov joined the Tigers in 2015 after the Rappersville-Jonas Lakers, then represented, lost to the top league. Punnenov has been in the Jona Lakers club system since 2012, but for the last two seasons he has played regularly in the NL tournament.

In the Swiss top league, he has been in 250 matches on the court, repelling 90.88% of the opponents’ shots.

Already in the autumn, it was announced that Punnenov would leave the Langnava club and could continue playing in the Lugano or Lausanne teams.

Punnenov has represented Latvia at two world championships and the Beijing Olympics in February.

The Lausanne team, represented by Latvian striker Ronalds Ķēniņš, stopped in the quarterfinals of the playoffs. The well-known Frenchman Christobal Ue works as a coach at the Lausanne club.
