Two elections in one. In Vitry, on June 12 and 19, voters will vote both for the legislative elections but also for the partial departmental elections in the canton of Vitry-2. The election of communists Évelyne Rabardel and Hocine Tmimi was canceled last February by the administrative court of Melun (Seine-et-Marne) following this appeal. An “already busy” electoral calendar
When the announcement of the cancellation of the ballot, the departmental advisers who said they were “victims”, since “in no way involved” in the irregularities, had indicated that they would not appeal. It will therefore be June 12 and 19, as the Val-de-Marne prefecture has just indicated, “either on the same dates as the legislative elections, to take into account the Ascension and Pentecost bridges and the calendar already loaded election”.
“We would have preferred at the start of the school year in September, reacted Laurence Dexavary, who, in February, had announced that he would represent himself, and while according to our information the ballot was to take place in May. To campaign, it will be complicated between the two elections. What worries us is the abstention. This is a real subject in Vitry. And for a partial, all the more so”. Applications can be submitted to the prefecture from May 11 for the first round, and from June 13 for the second.
