The same engine is hidden under the hood of the sedan and station wagon as under the hood of the AMG SL 43. However, its performance finally exceeded 400 horsepower.

At the beginning of the month, Mercedes-AMG introduced the basic engine of the SL 43 model, which was the first to use a two-liter supercharged four-cylinder with an electric turbocharger. Now, however, this engine is remembered again – in even better shape and under the hood of the sedan and station wagon series marked AMG C43 4Matic.
Under the hood of both body versions is hidden the same four-cylinder two-liter marked M139, which is complemented by 48V mild-hybrid technology. Thanks to this on-board network, engineers were able to supplement the engine with a similar electric turbocharger technology, which is also used by Formula 1 cars.

However, while under the hood of the AMG SL43 the engine generated the highest output of 381 hp and 480 Nm of torque, under the hood of the AMG C43 4Matic we are already talking about 408 hp (300 kW) and 500 Nm of torque. In both cases, the power transmission is handled by a nine-speed gearbox with wet clutches.
For the SL, however, the transmission only sent power to the rear wheels, while the C-Class offers all-wheel drive. The 100th sprint can be done in 4.6 seconds and the maximum speed is normally limited to 250 km / h. However, it can be up to 265 km / h on larger optional wheels. Let’s add that the four-cylinder replaces the 3.0-liter V6 engine, which offered the highest output of 287 kW and 520 Nm of torque.

The all-wheel drive system prefers the rear axle in a ratio of 31:69, but the AMG C43, unlike the higher series, cannot only become a rear-wheeler. However, the chassis will please with specific AMG springs installed on standard adaptive shock absorbers. Thanks to the rear-wheel drive system, which is appearing on the C43 for the first time, the car should also offer decent agility and better stability.
In terms of design, the car tries to impress with the well-known AMG tricks. So there is a characteristic Panamericana radiator grille, more aggressive bumpers, specific thresholds, indicated diffuser and the standard is also an exhaust system with a pair of tailpipes and active flaps, thanks to which the owner should not bother losing the six-cylinder even in terms of sound. For an additional fee, customers can also order the AMG Real Performance Sound system, which adds more artificial sound to the cabin.

The car is standard on 18 “alloy wheels, but customers can also pay extra for rims with a diameter of 19 and 20 inches. In addition, a small Turbo Electrified plaque on the front fenders draws attention to it, which draws attention to the biggest attraction under the hood.
In the interior, the car impresses with AMG sports seats, upholstered in a combination of Artico faux leather and microfiber. The seats are quilted with red thread and the seat belts are also red. The sporty steering wheel has been given AMG Dynamic Select controls, the dashboard is upholstered with Artico material and MBUX infotainment has learned new AMG functions, including the AMG Track Pace indicator for measuring speed, wheels, acceleration, overload, etc.
