Ukraine’s armed forces will be able to launch a counteroffensive. Equipment and human resources are needed to liberate the temporarily occupied settlements. This was stated by Alexei Arestovich, adviser to the Ukrainian president, UNIAN reports.
He noted that the Ukrainian military needs a large amount of equipment, manpower and rear to counterattack.
Arestovich said the Ukrainian armed forces would launch an immediate counteroffensive as soon as the opportunity arose.
“We don’t have heavy weapons. We need them. The West will give them to us and we will go on the counter-offensive. There will be no delays,” the presidential adviser explained.
However, the war started by Russia could become quite a long story, Arestovich later said on the YouTube channel “Feygin Live”.
According to Arestovich, the new weapons received from Ukraine will be able to have a serious impact on the battlefield by the end of May and the beginning of June.
According to him, the war itself could last until the end of 2022.
“We have to adjust to a long history. The cessation of the active phase in Donbass, this particular offensive and the transition to positioning does not mean the end of the war. However, there will be tactical actions, raids, clashes. This is a long enough history and can be quite long, it may end before the New Year, it all depends on a number of circumstances, “Arestovic said.
