How to get a free cervical cancer vaccine
–
Nakita.id – The government will provide free cervical cancer vaccine for the Indonesian people.
This is a step towards a healthier Indonesia by providing the HPV (Human Papilloma Virus) vaccine.
HPV itself is one of the causes cervical cancerand vaccines can be used as prevention.
The good news is that the Indonesian Ministry of Health has made it mandatory for people to get the HPV vaccine starting in 2022.
This HPV immunization will be included in the national training program, where children will also get it.
The Minister of Health of the Republic of Indonesia, Budi Gunadi, said that the use of the HPV vaccine is the same as other vaccines.
Economically, he considers that the cost of the vaccine is cheaper than treating cervical cancer in the future.
“Like Covid-19, if we get sick it costs tens of millions to go to the hospital, if we prevent it, it’s much cheaper,” said Budi Gunadi as reported by Antara Compass.
“Vaccination is to prevent, not treat sick people,” he added.
